Pallet How To: Creating Orders as a Merchant

Guides

On Pallet, creating orders can happend in two ways:

1. The Customer starts and sends orders through the portal.
2. The Merchant can create it from the dashboard.

In this post, we will cover the second scenario. For information on the buyer portal and placing orders, consult our buyer guide here.

Let’s Dive in!

Step 1: To create an order for a customer, we start by heading to the customer tab. From here, you can search for the customer using the search bar on the top right or by scrolling through the table.

Step 2: Click on the customer, and this will open up a side tab with all the customer’s information. On the top left of this tab, you will see the ‘Create Order’ button.

Step 3: This will open up the catalog from where you can start adding products and altering the quantities. Once done, simply send and create an order. If you wish to send the order at a later time you can save it as a draft. You can also delete or discard any change.

Step 4: Once the order is created a notification will be sent to your buyer, including the payment link if Pallet Pay is enabled. Buyers will have be able to see the order status, and invoice by logging in to the buyer portal.

In addition, if you wish to make changes to a draft order, simply head to the orders tab and search for that order on the table. Clicking this order will open the catalog and you can make edits accordingly.

Note: An order that has been sent and created cannot be edited. However, it can be deleted. To delete an order either created by the merchant or the customer, simply open the order and you will see a ‘Cancel order’ button on the top left.

And just like that, you’ve sent your first order. If you have any questions about your new account, please do not hesitate to reach out at support@onpallet.io
